ANTELOPE - the new Runtastic

Wearable Life Science can look back on a turbulent year. The startup based in Frankfurt has caused a sensation with its ANTELOPE series in 2015. The driving force and founders Kay Rathschlag Philipp G. Schwarz, Patrick Thumm and Aleksandr Kuboskin were celebrated as the “new Runtastic” in the media due to their futuristic sportswear. As winners of the “Startup Tour 2015” they are considered to be one of Europe’s most successful newcomers. The startup is planning a series A investment round for the first half of 2016 in order to accelerate the market entry in the following year.

The ANTELOPE series is supposed to become a game changer in the fitness market. For the first time, an electro muscle stimulation system (EMS) was designed for end customers. This system is integrated into compression clothing and can be controlled by an app. Therefore, an effective and time efficient full body training can be combined with every sport and can be used everywhere and at any time for regeneration an rehabilitation purposes. The product range includes a two-piece suit for a full body training as well as subproducts, such as a tank top or calf guards. The ANTELOPE Suit as the premium product will cost about 1,300 EUR. This price is a tenth of conventional EMS systems. Gyms and fitness equipment should be substituted by ANTELOPE - the gym is now your sportswear.

Even though ANTELOPE is not yet present on the market (expected market entry in March 2016), it is very well received in the fitness world, inter alia, because of the ISPO Brandnew Award. This is proven by the crowdfunding campaign of the company. Wearable Life Science gained 630,027 USD on the Indiegogo platform this autumn. Therefore, this campaign is currently the second most successful campaign of all times. Moreover, 8 business angels already invested 750,000 EUR in ANTELOPE prior to the campaign. The next step is the series A investment round to further expand our first mover advantage as the world's first mobile EMS system designed for end customers.
